Around here, I share our real-life journey: the wins, the flops, and the delightfully messy in-betweens. Fun Facts About Me & Our Country Life:

Born in Germany, became a proud U.S. citizen at 21, and traded the bright lights of Las Vegas for the towering pines of North Idaho in the ‘80s.
Fun fact: I was once so shy I couldn’t even order a pizza over the phone. (Now I’ll happily bend your ear about gardening and canning for hours.)
Started my first business at 24, and since then, my husband Rick and I have wrangled eight more into existence. We call it entrepreneurial spirit — others might call it a questionable hobby.
Together, we’ve raised five incredible kids and are now happily spoiling eleven grandkids.

Why This Blog?

I started Our Country Life because I wanted to share the beauty of simple living with others who also crave it. Whether you’re dreaming of a backyard bursting with tomatoes, mastering sourdough, or figuring out how to get rid of garden pests without harsh chemicals, I’m here to walk alongside you — mishaps, muddy boots, and all.
